Crystalline polymorphism; crystalline polymorphism
Crystalline polymorphism is the ability of a given molecule to exist in the solid state, in the same primary structure, in different crystalline forms with the same physicochemical characteristics in solution, melt and vapor.
Generic products
Generic medicines are manufactured from the same active ingredient as the reference product, whose patent has fallen into the public domain. They have the same qualitative and quantitative composition in active ingredient, the same galenic form and the same therapeutic efficacy as the originator. The latter is assessed by bioequivalence studies.
