9. Production methods (polymorphic screening)
Because different polymorphs and pseudopolymorphs of the same chemical entity may have different physicochemical characteristics, their discovery, preparation and characterization are essential steps in pharmaceutical research and development. There is really no exhaustive method for discovering all possible forms. However, the emergence of robotized methods enabling automated searches for all possible crystalline forms of a molecule is worth noting. The experiment will show just how effective this technology really is.
