In addition to these examples, there are a number of therapeutic tools and applications, particularly in the fields of psychotherapy and physical and rehabilitation medicine. These communities are constantly on the lookout for tools to promote personal autonomy, quality of life and participation in society.

But before promoting the use of virtual reality in these fields, it is necessary that the tools developed meet a certain number of criteria (such as feasibility or usability), but also that clinical studies explore their relevance to the intended objectives (such as testing cognition, sensitivity compared to existing tools) and their effectiveness in relation to everyday life, with the very first preamble being the elimination of any risk of adverse effects linked to virtual reality technologies (such as kinetosis).
