8. Regulated and standardized e-health
In view of the medical, economic and organizational stakes involved, coordinating care paths with the help of ICTs appears to be the most structuring development in the healthcare system. Tangible results have only been possible thanks to a major effort in regulatory coordination and international standardization. The legislative and regulatory framework organizes the entities involved in this national effort. In this respect, the development of telecommunications and ICT has contributed to the transformation of medicine.
Thanks to their standardized interfaces, fixed and mobile digital terminals make it possible to envisage the implementation of a healthcare system for the benefit of all, providing a relatively precise statistical picture of the state of health of the national population.
