7. Conclusion
Introducing prebiotics into the diet, either as such or with a galenic support, can now be either a "biotherapeutic" alternative or a complement to more aggressive therapy, in an ever-increasing number of very diverse pathologies. The numerous studies published over the last four years almost all point in this direction. Complementary research on mucous membrane and skin ecosystems has only widened the range of possibilities. However, a number of very recent studies (most of them after 2017 or 2018) have been carried out in vitro, or have only involved small cohorts of animals and, above all, patients. It therefore seems important to have a larger number of results for the new avenues explored (such as neurodegenerative diseases) in order to confirm all the interest and hopes raised by these initial studies with oligosaccharides.
