2. Choice of material

The choice of material in the context of 3D printing depends on the use of the product and the needs of the customer. Materials are generally classified according to their family (metals, polymers and ceramics, see table 3 ) and, even if the chemical composition of the same starting material is identical, the parts obtained by additive manufacturing from this material may have different mechanical characteristics depending on the physical state and characteristics of their raw materials (solid filament, liquid bath and powder) and therefore on the technologies used.
