2. Sustainable development, business and social responsibility
The adjective "social" is sometimes replaced by the adjective "societal" to make it clear that the focus is not just on labor relations, but on broader social issues such as relations with local residents, consumerism, inequalities, etc. In this article, we use the adjective "social" in a broad sense, to include all social issues from the outset, without restricting ourselves to labor relations.
As key players in the economy, companies were soon called upon to participate in efforts to achieve sustainable development.
