2. Provoke, suggest or create – Different uses and challenges of fictional design

Initially developed in the context of artistic and critical approaches, design fiction is now becoming a tool for innovation and decision support, based on the challenges of the future within organizations.

We hypothesize that this recent "mue" contributes to a focus on the reception of fiction by audiences, be they customers and users of an organization, or their members.

We propose to distinguish four forms of design fiction by highlighting two criteria that can be used to distinguish the different productions currently in use.

  • Criterion 1 – Fiction with a message or agnostic fiction
