2. Conclusion
The subject dealt with in this article is part of the general issue of sustainable development, which is based on the controlled use of natural resources of an ecological nature. Until now, the use of welded wood for exterior applications has been limited by its low water resistance. This article shows that water resistance can be improved by several methods.
The first method is based on welding parameters that enable wooden parts to withstand more than 25 hours in water.
Another method involves treating the welded surface with a rosin solution. The sample showed water resistance for over 30 days, with results in line with the requirements of European standards. However, the stiffness imparted by the rosin to the weld line reduces dry mechanical properties
