8. Conclusion
If the acceptance criteria are not met, the resulting stresses and strains can be detrimental to the normal life of the glazing, which is a legitimate expectation for a quality product.
Insulating glass units are becoming more and more efficient, particularly in terms of thermal insulation, thanks to the advent of low-emissivity coatings and the replacement of air layers by gas layers. As a result, stresses are higher, as internal temperatures are higher. This means greater care must be taken when specifying these types of glazing.
The use of thick or highly absorbent glass will also generate greater stresses.
In the future, more gas and glass blades could be added, but the limits of technology do not allow us to foresee such an evolution.
