2. Classification of silicate ceramic compositions
The mineral raw material composition of most silicate ceramics falls within the triangle of clay and kaolin – quartz and other granular fillers – feldspar-type fluxes or compounds providing alkaline (mainly sodium and potassium) or alkaline-earth elements (mainly calcium and magnesium).
