2. Ceramic technologies
Figure 1 , which gives a general overview of the main stages in ceramic manufacturing, identifies three main ceramic technologies: powder preparation (which includes the choice of raw materials), part shaping and the transition to high temperatures. Each of these stages is associated with a series of specific technologies from which the engineer must choose when developing a ceramic. The reader is invited to refer to the specific articles in Techniques de l'Ingénieur, whose references are systematically given.
