3. Conclusion
Nanothermites are emerging as highly reactive energetic materials with great potential for civil and military applications. However, little is known about their synthesis and combustion, and much progress needs to be made in these areas.
Synthesis methods using physical mixtures of powders in liquid or dry phases are the simplest and most suitable for producing materials in significant quantities on a medium scale. However, the long-term stability and reactivity of materials obtained using these techniques are not optimal, and their use remains problematic from a safety point of view. Faced with this situation, alternative methods such as sol-gel, coating, solution impregnation or assembly can be envisaged, leading to materials with very high performance in terms of reactivity and stability.
