The automotive world is a perfect illustration of this trend, since the latest cars feature up to 180 linear meters of glued joints, which can represent up to 20 kg of adhesive, and European consumption by the vehicle industry amounts to around 250,000 t of adhesive per year.
This interest is easily justified by the many advantages of adhesive bonding over traditional assembly techniques (screwing, clipping, riveting, etc.).
