Fluorocarbon elastomers have a number of similar functional properties but also some disadvantages, for example:
thermal stability ;
resistance to natural ageing, light and ozone ;
chemical stability with respect to many products ;
acceptable mechanical properties ;
intrinsic resistance to combustion ;
electrical insulation capacity ;
high cost ;
high density ;
limited resistance to low temperatures ;
