7. Examples of parts

Phenolic composites are used in solid propulsion nozzle parts for tactical, strategic or space applications, and in some liquid propulsion parts for their ablative and/or insulating properties.

Figure 6 shows a gas pedal from the Ariane 5 rocket, with various carbon/phenolic and silica/phenolic nozzle components.
