3. Description of a wire train
The wire train must successively perform the following functions at minimum added cost:
reheat the billet ;
give the wire its final geometry by rolling;
give the wire its final mechanical characteristics through cooling;
deliver wire coils that meet customer requirements, through inspection, packaging and loading onto trucks or railcars.
By way of example, table 2 summarizes the characteristics of some wire trains.
