3. Environmental functions in companies and factories

This issue was the subject of a document published by the Association Technique de la Sidérurgie Française in the Revue de Métallurgie in 1980. This document was updated in 1987, without changing the principles.

We'll just summarize the main points.

3.1 Organization

In each plant, environmental protection is the responsibility of all sectors, but is managed by a functional department, the Environmental Department.

The same organization is found at company head offices, with a senior environmental manager.
