3. Defects on rolled products
Surface defects observed on rolled products can be classified into three main categories:
defects due to incorrect gear adjustment ;
defects occurring during rolling ;
ingots.
These defects can be combined on the same ingot. To prevent them from being transmitted to the wire train, billets are inspected and repaired during the finishing process.
