Rolls are the rolling mill's essential tooling and an integral part of the process. They can be grooved or smooth-top. The larger the cross-section of the finished product, the larger the rolls.

Their diameters can vary from 150 to 1,600 mm, and their table lengths from a few centimetres to 2.5 m. Weights range from a few kilograms to several tens of tons. .
