2. Special features of the tinplate manufacturing cycle

The production of tinplate, compared with that of thin sheet, is described in the order of operations of today's modern steelworks, the only ones in operation in France (figure 1 ). These plants have abandoned ingot casting in favor of continuous casting of aluminum-quenched steels, resulting in steels with more consistent properties, better inclusionary cleanliness and a lower cost price.
