The aim of refining operations is to obtain 99.99% soft lead, by selective pyrometallurgical extraction of impurities. In succession (figure 2 ):
a decuivrage ;
removal of arsenic, antimony and tin;
an unsilvering ;
dezincification;
debismuthage.
