4. General conclusions and strategies

Having examined the worldwide development and situation of these two iron ore sintering processes, we feel it necessary to summarize the main conclusions of this study and to examine, taking into account the strategies of the main players, what might be the likely evolution of these methods and, above all, what could be done to influence this evolution.

4.1 Key findings

They can be summed up in the following three points:

  • From the examination that has been made, it seems unlikely that the agglomeration of iron ore fines or concentrates can be dispensed with in the short to medium term;
