3.1.1 Thickness

Due to the high precision of the measurements and regulations, 90% of the belt length is at nominal thickness within ± 0.025 mm, for an average thickness of between 2 and 3 mm. Average data are provided by ATS commissions. Variations are particularly noticeable at the heads of coils, over 20 to 30 m, and on coils immediately following a change in thickness, known as series heads.
