4. Application processes

4.1 Direct extrusion onto a metal surface

This technology is applied in the packaging field . The idea is not to deposit a thermoplastic film by calendering (Ferrolite), but to achieve the same type of coating by extruding the polymer directly onto the hot metal strip. The coextrusion process (figure 6 ) involves extruding several thermoplastic polymers through a single die.
