Factor screening consists in distinguishing, from a set of potentially influential factors, those that are actually influential in a given field of study.
Among the experimental designs widely used for factor screening are those of :
Plackett and Burman;
Taguchi ;
asymmetric screening ;
supersaturated.
Plackett and Burman's designs, and to a lesser extent Taguchi's, were the most widely used.
