4.1 Chemical substances and water parameters monitored
All TS industrial plants are subject to administrative authorization and must comply with the general technical requirements laid down in a specific prefectoral decree. This decree includes emission limit values (ELVs) for water emissions. Each industrial operator must monitor a certain number of chemical substances and water parameters. ELVs are generally established taking into account the industrial activity concerned, the nature of the chemical substances discharged and the characteristics of the receiving environment (urban wastewater treatment plant or watercourse).
