7. Conclusion
Metallic or organic coatings can be tested in a number of ways. From the list of tests on offer, it is important to choose those which are essentially representative of the part's conditions of use. While adhesion and coating thickness are certainly two properties that must be systematically tested, the other characteristics to be tested depend on the product's end use. In all cases, reference to a standard implies strict compliance with the conditions of the standard and the drawing up of a test report specifying the procedure. When all these conditions are met, the results are credible and valid.
