3. Conclusion
Of the wide variety of tube manufacturing processes, we have only dealt with metal tubes of simple cross-section. This variety is certainly matched by wide nuances in process mechanics and process materials. Although most of these are long-established, we have seen that machine tools have continued to evolve in recent decades, not only in terms of mechanical principle (from VMR to HMR to LC in pilger rolling), but above all in terms of measurement and control. There is no doubt that in the years to come, the acquisition and processing of massive amounts of data will lead to finer control modes and optimized ranges and tooling according to the alloy formed. However, understanding how the process works and how the material responds will undoubtedly remain fundamental to guiding these processes.
