2. Two-dimensional models and mill design

Using the slice method here, we restrict ourselves to operations where its use is lawful, i.e. cold rolling and, without great risk, hot train finishing. We conduct a quick parametric study, the reference conditions of which are presented in the box.

Rolling conditions

Thickness, reduction: h 1 = 1 mm, h 2 = 0.7 mm (30% reduction)

Cylinders assumed rigid: R = 300 mm

Band voltages: t 1 = t 2 = 0

Mechanical properties : σ0=300(1+50
