
3. Comparison between 1 and 3 ton capacity bags
Analysis of the various losses shows that, despite having 3 times the capacity, the 3 t ladle is very close to the 1 t ladle. Only the temperature drop of the liquid metal can be up to 3 times lower in the 3 t ladle, i.e. in the inverse ratio to the capacity of the ladles being compared.
3.1 For aluminum-containing pouches
For this example, we use the following parameters:
the fillings were preheated to 600°C for 6 h ;
the ladles have capacities of 1 t and 3 t of aluminum at 750 °C ;
the residence time of the metal in each ladle is 10 min;
the aluminous refractory is 70 mm thick, with insulation provided by 10 mm...
