6. Finishing operations

When the rolling operations are complete, the result is a coil, plate or sheet. Finishing operations are then carried out to :

  • surface finishing, such as varnishing, lacquering, coating with protective lubricant or for further processing;

  • prepare and pack products for shipment;

  • correct defects that appear during the rolling and winding processes, or that are a consequence of these processes;

  • complete the metallurgical treatments.
