3. General part design guidelines

To make the most of the advantages and potential of aluminum alloys, and benefit from advances in casting techniques, the builder must take particular care in defining the parts. These studies involve functional factors as well as specific factors linked to the casting process and the alloy used.

The diversity of casting processes that can be used with aluminum alloys calls for a number of specific rules. .
