5. Some applications for shape memory alloys
Shape memory alloys are used in a wide variety of fields, from mechanical engineering and medicine to household products and even fashion. The aim here is not to describe a large number of applications, but rather to give a few principles, each illustrated by one or two examples.
5.1 Coupling
The aim is to ensure a connection between two parts by taking advantage of the ability of A.M.F. to deform strongly in the martensitic state.
