Extrinsic dislocation; extrinsic dislocation
Dislocation introduced into a grain boundary by deformation; this linear defect is not part of the equilibrium structure of the grain boundary described in terms of intrinsic dislocations.
Creep
Slow deformation of a material subjected to constant stress.

Synonym for crystal; any crystalline material consists of an agglomeration of grains, or elementary crystals.
