4. Forced-air diffusion
Thermally activated diffusion, hitherto considered as a set of atomic jumps within a crystal lattice and governed by Fick's law, can be modified by the presence of external forces. These can be chemical, mechanical, electrical or thermal in nature. They therefore lead to the general expression of the flux , which can be written as :
