4. Conclusion

Although this booklet is dedicated specifically to corrosion fatigue testing, particular attention has been paid to the presentation of damage mechanisms and the influence of the many significant parameters in the field.

Correct simulation of fatigue-corrosion conditions requires careful assessment of both the mechanical and environmental stresses on the component under consideration.

In fact, there's generally no single test method that's right for every case.
