7. Hydrogeology

In the previous paragraphs, we studied the movement of water in soil pores. These movements occur in nature, the natural framework of geology, and are the subject of study in hydrogeology.

7.1 Defining slicks

A groundwater table or water table is made up of all the water saturating a piece of land, the various parts of which are in continuous contact, through pores, cracks or channels [3] . This very general definition does not take into account ground permeability or hydraulic head. It applies well to scree slopes, where water flows preferentially through channels, while bathing the more clayey zones.
