4. Software for evaluating and calculating thermodynamic quantities

Calculation software and data banks are two indispensable elements of thermodynamic information. In practice, it is the evolution of values within an operating range (temperature, pressure) that enables :

  • assessing the behavior of a product, mixture or material;

  • process modeling.

What's more, the ability to calculate property values, under given conditions, from a reference value, saves on information storage.

Calculation software is fed by numerical data that can be drawn from a database. This is why the combination of software library and reference database is often proposed.
