3.1 Thermal conductivity of elements (table )
A number of elements have been proposed as reference materials for thermal conductivity: copper, gold, platinum, nickel, tungsten. As already mentioned, conductivity values are highly sensitive to low temperatures, purity and crystalline perfection. As a general rule, we have chosen those corresponding to the purest materials. For the elements, we have also included the conductivities of liquids and gases.
