3. Thermal capacities of real fluids

In principle, knowledge of a fluid's equation of state enables us to determine the deviation of its thermodynamic properties (residual quantities) from the perfect state as a function of temperature and pressure.

residual size: X R = X * (T, p ) – X (T, p )

with the exponent standing for perfect gas,

where R stands for residual.
