2. Three-parameter empirical or semi-empirical equations of state
The equations in this section are intermediate between the compressibility equations of state and theoretical equation-of-state models, as they are formulated on the basis of phenomenological arguments which indicate that there is a universal relationship between the dimensionless quantities V, T and P.
