3.1 Supported catalysts
Depending on the reactor used (fixed-bed or fluidized-bed reactors, respectively), catalytic mass oxides are used in granular form (or in the form of pellets, rings, etc.) or in powder form, to meet material and heat transfer requirements. They can also be deposited on materials of various types (alumina, glass, soapstone, etc.), sizes and shapes (spheres, rings, monoliths, etc.)
