3. Concrete examples

Because the nitrogen produced by a PSA system generally contains low levels of oxygen, some chemical processes are better suited to this type of supply than others. The following examples detail processes for which the use of a PSA system has proved highly beneficial.

3.1 Production of pressure-sensitive adhesives

The manufacture of pressure-sensitive adhesives involves the handling of flammable solvents and powders, which can present safety problems. In this process, finely ground rubber and filler materials are added to flammable organic solvents in agitators.
