3.1 Presentation
It was industrial access to methyl naphthalenedicarboxylate (the Amoco process taken over by BP) that enabled the commercial development of PEN.
PEN is a semi-crystalline polymer with a melting temperature (T f ) and glass transition temperature (T g ) much higher than those of PET. Its crystallization kinetics are slower (table 5 ).
