4. Conclusions and proposals

In the light of all the documents examined and synthesized in this study in relation to :

  • the various aspects of phosphogypsum in several phosphoric acid and fertilizer-producing countries, including characterization, regulations, management and recovery;

  • physicochemical and radiological characteristics of phosphogypsum,

and with particular reference to the United Nations' 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, notably SDG 9 "Industry, Innovation & Infrastructure" and SDG 12 "Sustainable Consumption & Production", which aim to promote the circular economy, good governance of natural resources and reduce the impact of waste, as far as possible, on the environment by developing its recovery in various sectors, we note the following:
