7. Ecological footprint

In order to study the environmental impact of a liquefied gas extraction process, the ecological footprint was determined based on the 6 principles of eco-extraction defined by Chemat et al. .

Principle 1: promote innovation through varietal selection and the use of renewable plant resources.

Principle 2: give preference to alternative solvents, especially those derived from agro-resources.

Principle 3: Reduce energy consumption with the help of innovative technologies and promote energy recovery.
