4. Conclusion

Ion exchange is a century-old technology that has reached a certain degree of maturity. Resin manufacturing principles have hardly changed, despite a growing trend towards the production of resins with uniform particle sizes, sometimes almost completely calibrated. Product quality in terms of physical stability has also improved considerably. Nevertheless, we should not expect any revolutionary breakthroughs in the exchange capacity of resins.
