3. Concentration per flowing film layer

3.1 Principles

The length of the path taken by a particle on an inclined plane over which a liquid film is flowing by gravity depends on two actions (figure 9 ):

  • particle sedimentation ;

  • moving to the background.

One of the phenomena involved is alluviation, during which heavy, coarse grains are the first to encounter the support and may become trapped, while light, fine grains are carried away by the current.
