2. Coarse fragmentation

Coarse fragmentation includes pre-crushing and crushing operations for rocky materials. It also includes demoulding, slicing and shredding operations.

Coarse fragmentation device technologies are based on the application of external forces that can be related to compression, shear and impact actions. Devices are classified according to their principal mode of action. It is often difficult to determine the exact contribution of each type of external force, as only the overall result is observed.
